How to File a Declaration of Intent to Evict

Property owners can file a Declaration of Intent to Evict and pay application fees either in person at a LAHD public counter or via mail.

In-Person Appointments:

To schedule an appointment, go to the Online Appointment Scheduler

  • Be ready with a completed Declaration and a completed Relocation Services or Demolition Monitoring Services Application, and be ready to make the application fee payment (by cash, credit card or check payable to:  City of Los Angeles – LAHD).  Since no-fault evictions have ownership requirements, you can save time by submitting a copy of your most recent Grant Deed.  If the property is owned by a trust, you can submit a copy of the trust instrument which identifies any trustee, trustor and beneficiary.  If not submitted with the application, you may later be required to submit ownership documentation in order for LAHD to process the Declaration.
