Landlord Incentives

The City of Los Angeles in partnership with Los Angeles County Development Authority and other neighboring agencies. In order to help expand the opportunities and incentives for landlords within the Los Angeles County region, the following Public Housing Agencies have agreed to allow EHV participants to search for rental units in each other’s jurisdictions: the LACDA, Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles, City of Norwalk, and the City of Pasadena.

About the EHV

On May 12, 2021, the Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) accepted 1,964 Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHVs), as part of an allocation of 70,000 vouchers issued to public housing authorities nationwide, by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The EHVs were allocated as a part of the American Rescue Plan Act, with the intent of assisting individuals and families most in need and for whom providing rental assistance will prevent the family’s homelessness or having high risk of housing instability.

The Incentives

Participating landlords are eligible for incentive payouts such as: a one-time signing bonus of $2,500 for each unit leased, up to $5,000, or three months’ rent, (whichever is less) one-time reimbursement for new contract inspection repairs, reliable subsidized monthly payments, and free property listing.
